This page describes the practical realisation of the notes from stage 4 carried out by Fraser Trainer and members of the London Sinfonietta, with staff and students from St. Martin's in the Field School, Tulse Hill, London and Maria Fidelis Convent School, Euston, London.

The final visit to both schools began with everyone listening to a recording of Tree Line.

We then separated into the smaller groups of the previous sessions to revise all the material we had invented so far.

After a break, we assembled in the school hall to perform and listen to all the material before working out the shape and structure for the composition.

Some sections blended well when played at the same time as others, whereas some chord sequences or melodies demanded to be heard alone.

Once arranged, we rehearsed the piece in preparation for the forthcoming performance at the South Bank Centre - the only thing missing, a good title!
