"Composition gives proper meaning to the natural streems of sound that penatrate the world."

Titles were one of Takemitsu's main sources of inspiration. He was one of those composers who always needed to have the title in place before starting to write. Thus his titles give a very strong hint as to the "feel" or atmosphere of a particular work. They are not only descriptive, but are used to link the worlds of nature and music, sometimes even forming a connection through many independant pieces.
